Raymond E. Knight, age 82 of Fremont, formerly of Brunswick, passed away Tuesday, April 15, 2014 at his home following a short illness. Ray was born on March 8, 1932 in Holton to Denzil and Alice (Hysell) Knight and later married Margaret Monette on June 20, 1953 at St. Michael's Catholic Church in Brunswick. Ray had been a crane wireman at Lift Tech in Muskegon for many years until his retirement in 1994. Ray was a member of the All Saints Catholic Church in Fremont and had enjoyed hunting in his younger years, was an avid golfer, enjoyed playing cards and was an avid sports fan.

Ray is survived by his wife of 61 years, Margaret "Peg" of Fremont; his children, Wanda (Mark) McCastle of Holton; Don (Kathy Jo) Knight of Mesquite, Nevada; Douglas Knight of Holton; Mary (Kevin) Moore of Greenville; 15 grandchildren; 29 great grandchildren; his aunt, Ethel Knight of Honor, MI; several sister's-in-laws and brother's-in-laws. He was preceded in death by his parents, Denzil and Alice; his son, Mark Knight; his brother, Donald Knight.

VISITATION : Monday, April 21, 2014 from 2-4 & 6-8 at Crandell Funeral Home – Fremont Chapel with SCRIPTURE SERVICES at 7:30pm at the funeral home. MASS OF RESURRECTION : Tuesday, April 22, 2014 at 11am at the All Saints Catholic Church in Fremont. INTERMENT : St. Michael's Catholic Cemetery in Brunswick. MEMORIAL CONTRIBUTIONS : Heartland Hospice or American Cancer Society.
