Obituary

Raymond B. Larson, age 90 of White Cloud, formerly of Grand Rapids, passed away Sunday, September 25, 2011 at the Transitional Health Services in Fremont. Raymond was born on August 13, 1921 in Bessemer, Michigan to Bernard and Lillian (Bradley) Becker and later married Dorothy Dingaman on May 30, 1952 in Grand Rapids. Ray had been in the Civilian Conservation Corps and then joined the Michigan National Guard and was activated to the United States Army where he served in New Guinea during World War II until his honorable discharge. Ray had been a truck driver for B & B Beer Distributors in Grand Rapids for 30 years and then had been self employed for another 10 years until his retirement. Ray moved to the White Cloud area in 1983 from Grand Rapids and was a member of the White Cloud United Methodist Church, was a member of the Dark Sky Observers in Newaygo County, Lowell Astronomy Club; had been a board member of the Newaygo County Historical Society and had been an active member of the White Cloud V.F.W. where he had held all office positions. Ray is survived by his wife of 59 years, Dorothy of White Cloud; his cousin, Patricia Johnson of Canton Township; special friends, Jerry & Rosemarie Wright of White Cloud; his companion, Pugy. VISITATION : Friday, September 30, 2011 from 12-2pm at the Crandell Funeral Home White Cloud Chapel. FUNERAL SERVICES : Friday, September 30, 2011 at 2pm at the funeral home. INTERMENT : White Cloud Cemetery. MEMORIAL CONTRIBUTIONS : White Cloud V.F.W.
