Raymond J. Mast, age 84, of Fremont, passed away Saturday, June 30, 2001, at St. Marys Hospital in Grand Rapids. He was born on September 12, 1916, in Fremont to Harry & Martha (Luchies) Mast and married Esther Breuker on April 12, 1940, in Fremont and worked at Shaw-Walker until 1976. He was a faithful member of the First Christian Reformed Church in Fremont and had been involved in Project Philip for over 20 years. He is survived by his loving wife Esther of Fremont; sons, Wayne (Sandra) Mast and James (Marcia) Mast both of Fremont; 5 grandchildren, Debra (John) Leonard, Jeff (Sandy) Mast, Brenda , Jonathan and Joshua Mast; 6 great-grandchildren, Erica & Lindsay & John Leonard, Samuel & Benjamin Mast, and Travis Mast; brother Alvin (Barbara) Mast; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by daughter Sandra VerSchueren in 1980. Funeral Services were held on Tuesday, July 3, 2001, at the First Christian Reformed Church in Fremont with Rev. Allen Petroelje officiating. Interment was in Maple Grove Cemetery. Friends are asked to consider the Fremont Area Community Foundation for the Fremont Christian School or the First Christian Reformed Church Building Fund for a more lasting memorial.
