Raymond E. Nelson Mr. Raymond E. Nelson, age 81, passed away Tuesday morning, August 23, 2005. He was born August 31, 1923 in Holton to Hans and Lena (Bucher) Nelson and married Eileen J. Clark on September 21, 1946. He was a graduate of Hastings High School and proudly served under General Pattons 3rd Army, 43rd Calvary Mechanized in WW II as a Sergeant. He attended the Hesperia United Methodist Church and worked at the Lakey Foundry and later retired as a rural mail carrier from the Hesperia Post Office. He is survived by his wife, Eileen; 5 daughters, Valeria Nelson of Hart; Raelyne (Rick) Castonia of Whitehall; Carol Thompson of Bitely; Sharon (Dan) Frees of Hesperia; Michelle (Steve) Carlson of Muskegon; 7 grandchildren, Paul Castonia of Muskegon; Jeremy (Pam) Nelson of Whitehall; Nathan Castonia of Muskegon; Andrew Castonia of Whitehall; Rick Nelson of Bitely; Joe Frees of Wyoming; Brian Frees of Hesperia; 2 great grandchildren, Austin Nelson of Whitehall and Christian Castonia of Muskegon. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Barbara Homan and infant son, Raymond E.; .his parents, 6 brothers, 5 sisters. Funeral Services were held on Friday, August 26, 2005 from the Hesperia United Methodist Church with Rev. Brad Brillhart presiding with interment in the West Hesperia Cemetery.
