Obituary

Raymond Wawsczyk, a life long resident of White Cloud, age 89, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on January 19, 2026. Born on August 29, 1936, to Roman and Agata Wawsczyk, Ray lived a life defined by his deep faith, his love for family, and his passion for music.

Ray was a man of steadfast character and hard work. He dedicated 39 years of his career to the Gerber Products Company, where he was a respected colleague and friend before his

retirement. Beyond his professional life, Ray’s heart belonged to his ministry and his community. As a founding member of the Faith Gospel Team and a devoted member of Big Prairie Community Church, his "deep faith in the Lord" was the cornerstone of his life. Many will fondly remember Ray with his accordion in hand, sharing his musical gifts to lift spirits and praise God.

He celebrated 69 years of marriage with his wife, Vivian (Webster). Together, they built a legacy of love that spans five generations. Ray was a devoted father to Dennis (Cheryl) Wawsczyk, Susan Johnson, Ron (Shelley) Wawsczyk, and Roger (Merry) Wawsczyk. He is survived by his brother, Bernard (Ann) Wawsczyk, many nieces and nephews and many close friends. 8 grandchildren: Derek (Kelly) Wawsczyk, Kenny (Maureen) Wawsczyk, Devin (Jessica) Johnson, Shayna (Tony) Johnson, Zachary (Rachel) Wawsczyk, Aubrey (Storm) Bastion, Collin Wawsczyk, and Nolan Wawsczyk; 4 great-grandchildren: Mackenzie (Luke) Spitler, Degan, Patrick, and Claire Wawsczyk; and 2 great-great-grandchildren: Skylar and Alayna Spitler.

Raymond was preceded in death by his parents and his siblings: John Wawsczyk, Casimer Wawsczyk, Stanley Wawsczyk, Adela Drust, Matilda Boeskool, and Leona Gustafson.

A graveside service will take place at a later time. Suggested memorial donations in Raymond’s memory may be made through Crandell Funeral Home to Big Prairie Community Church or Harvest Ministries (Mission in Haiti to help children with education).
