Rene Ann Long, age 62 of Bitely, formerly of White Cloud, passed away Friday, December 15, 2017 at her home following a short illness. Rene was born on January 28, 1955 in Cadillac to Jerry D. and Lavonne R. (Bates) Smith. Rene was raised in the state of Michigan with Jerry D. and Janet L. Smith and later married Timothy Long on January 11, 2002 in White Cloud. Rene has been a resident of the Newaygo County area since 1999 where she was affiliated with the Glory of Latter House Ministries in White Cloud. Rene truly enjoyed being a homemaker where she was an excellent cook and often times had more cookies on her counter than she could give away. She enjoyed crocheting, beading, arts and crafts and working in her flower garden and camping in her younger years.

Rene is survived by her husband, Tim A. Long of Bitely; her son, Jacob (Tara) Bliss of Greenville; step daughter, Tabatha (Tom) Rake of White Cloud; 6 grandchildren; her sisters, Kimberly Cannon of Greenville; Diana (Rod) Beaver of Baldwin; Lori (Joe) Kanady of Lansing; Chris (Pete) Jenkins of Kent City; several nieces and nephew; special friend, Cindy Buys of Fremont. Rene was preceded in death by her father and step mother, Jerry and Janet Smith; her mother, Lavonne Bates; her brother, Gary Smith; her brother-in-law, Jerry Cannon.

VISITATION : Tuesday, December 19, 2017 from 4-7pm at Crandell Funeral Home – White Cloud Chapel 1109 Court Street White Cloud MI 49349 FUNERAL SERVICES : Wednesday, December 20, 2017 at 1pm at the Crandell Funeral Home – White Cloud Chapel.
