Richard "Dick" Allen Smith, age 81 of Holton, passed away Monday, June 10, 2024 at his home.  Dick was born on June 2, 1943 in Fremont to Frank H. and Edith L. (Horton) Smith and graduated from Holton High School in 1962.  Dick met and later married Janice Lunata Cregg on October 6, 1962 in Holton and has been a lifelong resident of the Holton area.  Dick had worked at Sealed Power for 10 years and later started working for USF Holland Trucking where he retired in September 2003 after 31 years. Dick enjoyed woodworking, working in his sawmill, gardening, fixing and restoring antique furniture, had been active in the Senior Volunteer Program in the Holton area and had been active in the Holton Historical Society.  Dick enjoyed family gatherings and grilling for the gatherings.

Dick is survived by his wife of 61 years, Janice of Holton; his daughters, Tammy (Dale) Mackey of Muskegon; Teresa Groh of Norton Shores; Trisha (Adam) Berus of Twin Lake; his grandchildren, Angela (Chris) Bonter, Thomas (Michelle) Mackey, Richard Groh, Alyssa Groh, Ashley Groh, Branden Dykman, Conner Berus; his great grandchildren, Carter Tyler, Kent Dykman, Lilyonna Furlong and twins on the way; his brothers, William (Kaye) Smith, Jack (Penny) Smith, Larry (Teri) Smith, Steve (Pam) Smith,; sister-in-law, Judy Smith.  Dick was preceded in death by his brother, James Smith.
