Richard E. Crow Sr., age 80 of Hesperia, passed away Thursday, November 21, 2019 at his daughters home in Hesperia. Richard was born on December 26, 1938 in Muskegon to Chester and Eleanor (Nyquist) Crow and later married Cora Sue Moore on September 18, 1959 in Muskegon. Cora Sue preceded him in death on July 25, 2013. Richard joined the United States Army and served in the Army during the post Korean era in Texas and Germany until his discharge. Richard had been an Iron Worker, Local 17 in Cleveland, Ohio until his retirement in 1994 and moved back to the Hesperia area in 1985 from Ohio. Richard enjoyed word search puzzles, playing cards and cribbage, reading, working and tinkering on vehicles, telling jokes, watching movies, speaking German, fishing and hunting in his younger years and most recently spending time with his family. Richard was also a member of the VFW Post #7576, American Legion Post #397 and Am Vets Post #22 all in Vermilion, Ohio. Richard is survived by his children, Joan (Dion) McGirr of Vermilion, Ohio; Jean Absher of Lorrain, Ohio; Janet Stitt of Hesperia; Richard (Ginny) Crow Jr. of Amherst, Ohio; Deborah (Wade) Roesly of Newaygo; 19 grandchildren; 34 great grandchildren and 6 great great grandchildren; his sister, Maxine Bartlett of Twin Falls, Idaho. Richard was preceded in death by his daughter, Janice Crow; his great grandson, James Lee Updegrove Jr.; his son-in-law, Mark Stitt; his sister, Marilyn and brothers, Don and Fred. VISITATION : Tuesday, November 26, 2019 from 12:30-2pm at the Crandell Funeral Home – Fremont Chapel. FUNERAL MEMORIAL SERVICES : Tuesday, November 26, 2019 at 2pm at the Crandell Funeral Home with Military Honors under the auspices of the United States Army and Hesperia American Legion.
