Richard Jack Dix, age 84, of Hesperia, passed away on Friday, November 16, 2018, at his home. Richard was born on May 22, 1934, in Garfield Township to David and Etta (Weber) Dix, was a graduate of Fremont High School, and received a Master's Degree at the University of Maryland. Richard married his childhood sweetheart, Beryl Kay Clemens on June 20, 1953, in Fremont. Richard retired from the military after twenty two years where he served during the Korean and Vietnam Wars and retired as a Lieutenant in the United States Navy. Richard enjoyed woodworking, golfing, sailing, reading, and listening to classical music. Richard is survived by his wife of 65 years, Beryl of Hesperia; his daughters, Carol Lockwood of Fremont and Delores Giroux of Maryland; his grandchildren, Robert W. Howell Jr., Richard J. (Rachel) Howell, Corey Giroux, and B.J. Giroux; seven great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Richard was preceded in death by his brothers and sister, Charles Dix, Robert Dix, David Dix, and Dorothy Shutts; and his son-in-law, Ed Lockwood.
