Richard A. "Dick" Foster, age 82 of Fremont, passed away Tuesday, September 19, 2017 at his home. Dick was born on February 14, 1935 in Fremont to Carl Andrew and Betty (Kraley) Foster and graduated from Fremont High School in 1953. Dick later married Patricia May Peterson on April 30, 1955 in Fremont and has been a lifelong resident of the Fremont area. Dick had been a forklift driver at Gerber Products Company in Fremont for several years until his retirement in 1994. Dick enjoyed feeding and watching his birds at his home, tinkering with his flowers and working in his yard; had enjoyed snowmobiling, hunting and fishing in his younger years; was an avid and longtime Detroit Lions fan and enjoyed watching football. Dick was well known in his family for his bonfires as well.

Dick is survived by his wife, Patricia May "Pat" Foster of Fremont; his daughters, Peggy (Doug) Derby of Fremont; Kelly (Tim) McNamara of Fremont; his grandchildren, Cammy Widing of Fremont; Steve Widing of Fremont; Stephanie (Alex) Gabryel of Wauwatosa, Wisconsin; Josh (Kristen) McNamara of Charlotte, North Carolina; Mike McNamara of Charlotte, North Carolina; his great grandchildren, Sheyenne (Adam Winter) Nelson; Koty Nelson; Kyle Bazinau; Kane Widing; Braedon McNamara; Brayden Guess; Brycen Gabryel; Kali McNamara; his brother, Paul (Barbara) Foster of Fremont; his sister, Donna (Harry) Stroven of Fremont; several nieces and nephews. Dick was preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Betty Foster and by his sons, Rodney Foster in 1956 and Mark Foster in 1983.
