Richard E. Jackson, age 74 of White Cloud passed away Saturday, December 1, 2001 at the Metron of Cedar Springs Nursing Home following a short illness. He was born on October 29, 1927 in Chicago to Harold Henry and Dora Marie (Mortensen) Jackson and married his wife Barbara on December 31, 1985 in White Cloud. He has been a resident of the White Cloud area since 1965 when he moved from Jackson, Michigan. He had been an electrician for Kent Power Services for 23 years until his retirement in 1989. He was a member of the Big Prairie Community Church; was a member of the Sportsmans Club in Newaygo; the Croton American Legion; and enjoyed hunting and fishing. He is survived by his wife, Barbara; his children, Burt (Peg) Jackson of Newaygo; Monte (Norine) Jackson of Maybee, MI; Robert (Mary) Jackson of Oak Creek, Wisconsin; Allen (Nina) Jackson of Temperance, MI; Virginia (Bruce) VonWald of Harrison, MI; Cheryl (Patrick) Dunnahoo of Austin, Texas; stepchildren, John (Sue) Sedine of Coopersville; Jim (Marla) Sedine of Sand Lake; Gerald Sedine of Douglasville, Georgia; Jeff Sedine of Morley; 21 grandchildren; 1 great grandchild; two brothers, Claude (Patricia) Jackson of Torrance, California; Bert Jackson of Kingston, Washington; his ex-wife, Verta Jackson of Fremont; and special friend, Jack. Funeral services were held on Thursday, December 6, 2001 at 11:00am from the Crandell Funeral Home White Cloud Chapel with Rev. Arnold Guikema of the Big Prairie Community Church presiding with interment in the Fairview Cemetery in Stanwood. Friends may consider the Big Prairie Community Church for memorial contributions.
