Richard John Rayman, age 71, of Fremont passed away after a long and courageous battle with cancer on Thursday, February 23, 2012, at his home. Rich was born on January 18, 1941, in Toledo, Ohio, to Melvin James and Pauline Lydia (Blank) Rayman Sr. He has spent the last 23 wonderful years with his wife Sally (Johansen) Rayman. Rich served his country during the Cuban Conflict was a member of the Croton American Legion. Rich is survived by his wife, Sally of Fremont; children, Sherri Robinson of Fremont, Peggy Giffen Hamlin of Grand Haven, Bobby (Sandy) Giffen of Holton, Donna (Steve) Seaver of Grand Haven, Mike (Lillian) Johansen of San Diego, Christa (Eric) Mulky of Indianapolis, and Anna (Kyle) Huffman of Denver; grandchildren, PFC Daniel J. Robinson II, Adam Robinson, Melissa Sturgill, Serria Curro, Sage Curro, Niles Johansen, Kevin Huffman, and Kaili Marriner; mother, Pauline Rayman; brothers, Melvin (Betty) Rayman of Virginia and Gene (Ruth) Rayman of Spokane. Rich was preceded in death by his father Melvin Rayman and daughter Cynthia Curro. A time to remember Richard and to meet with the Rayman family will be held on Sunday, February 26, 2012, from 2-4 PM, at the Crandell Funeral Home in Fremont.
