Richard Lewis Shears, age 70, of White Cloud passed away on Saturday, April 15, 2017, at his home with his family by his side. Richard was born on July 16, 1946, in Grand Haven to Charles Lewis and Geneva Maude (Cory) Shears and married Marva Jean Satter on June 20, 1964, in Grand Haven. Richard was a tool and die maker at Portland Products and also was a real estate agent. Richard enjoyed hunting, fishing, woodworking, camping, and family time.

Richard is survived by his wife, Marva; children, Theresa (Richard) Scofield of Lakeview, Marvin Edward (Lori) Shears of White Cloud, Patricia Ann Shears of Coopersville, and Virginia Mae (Terry) Sutton of Kansas City, Kansas; grandchildren, Sharon May, Rebecca Miller, Leonard Miller, Maria Shears, Patty Lynn Shears, Jessie Shears, Michael Shears, Matthew Shears, Megan (Brent) Burkholder, Mikayla (Patrick) Yancey, McKenzie Reddick, Ashley Miller, Richard Miller, Destiny Miller, and Richard Scofield Jr.; great grandchildren, Amy May, Summer May, Alaina Tjapkes, Elizabeth Tjapkes, Scott Tjapkes, Aurorrah Shears, Brennon Burkholder, Riann Burkholder, Kaiyn Burkholder, Audrey Miller, and Milo Miller; father, Charles L. Shears; sister, Sheala Rollenhagen of Coopersville; and many other aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews. Richard was preceded in death by his mother, Geneva; sister, Sharon Shears; brother, Charles Ray Shears, and brother-in-law, Larry Rollenhagen.

Visitation will be held from 5 – 8 PM on Thursday, April 20, 2017, at the Crandell Funeral Home in White Cloud. Memorial services will held at 11 AM on Friday at the 7th Day Baptist Church in White Cloud.
