Obituary

Wilson, Richard L. Richard L.Wilson, age 59 of Newaygo, passed away Friday, April 9, 2004 at his home. He was born on December 28, 1944 in Muskegon to Richard G. and Fanny (Eason) Wilson and married Barbara Sauline on May 10, 1980. He graduated from Orchard View High School in 1963 and later joined the United States Air Force in communications during the Vietnam Era. He has been a resident of the Newaygo Area since 1980 where he was co-owner of Tech-Source International in Newaygo. He was active in the Newaygo V.F.W. Sportsmans Post #4249; a member of the Fremont Moose Lodge #1555; member of the American Legion Mackinaw City Post #0159; Eagles Aerie Post #4194 in Cedar Key, Florida. He is survived by his wife of 23 years, Barbara of Newaygo; his son, Michael (Amber) Wilson of Fremont; his grandchildren, Mackenzie Wilson and Connor Wilson; his mother, Fanny Smith of Muskegon; sister, Becky (Gary) Counselor of Muskegon; mother and father-in-law, Jack & Barbara Sauline of Newaygo; step brother, Mike (Jeanne) Smith of Muskegon; many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Richard G. Wilson; step father, Dale Smith; step sister, Diane Carlson. Funeral memorial services were held on Wednesday, April 14, 2004 at 1:00pm from the Newaygo V.F.W. Sportsmans Post #4249 under the auspices of the Honor Guard of the Newaygo V.F.W. Sportsmans Post #4249 with interment in the Newaygo Cemetery. Friends are asked to consider Hospice of Michigan Newaygo County or American Cancer Society in lieu of flowers.
