Rick A. Walker, age 53 of Eaton Rapids, formerly of Hesperia, passed away Tuesday, April 30. 2019 at his home in Muskegon. Rick was born on July 23, 1965 in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania to Ernest and Beverly Marlene (Spaulding) Walker and moved to the Hesperia area at the age of 10. Rick graduated from Hesperia High School in 1984 and later began work at the Michigan Packing Company in Mason, Michigan until his retirement. Rick enjoyed the Michigan outdoors – fishing, hunting, camping, bonfires; spending time with his family and his dogs; enjoyed time in the family sugar bush collecting sap and making maple syrup; always maintained a close relationship with his high school class mates from the Hesperia Class of 1984 and his neighbors; and was known for his cooking and grilling abilities. Rick is survived by his children, Emily (Jeremiah) Shirreffs of Grand Rapids; Jacob (Hayley) Walker of Saranac; his grandchildren, Silas, Blair and one due in September; significant other, Kim Wernstrom of Muskegon; his sisters and brother, Toni (Donald) Tarpening of Vallejo, California; Laurinda "Rindy" Sarver of Enola, Pennsylvania; Tim (Shannon) Walker of Dickinson, North Dakota; his aunts and uncles, Bud (Marilyn) Spaulding of Newaygo; Barb Annis of Fremont; Evie Bonstell of Crystal Valley; his former wife, Wendi Walker of Grand Rapids; many nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ernest and Beverly Walker and his brother, Otis Walker.
