Robert August "Bob" Cooley, age 58 of Blue Lake, passed away Monday, December 4, 2017 at Our Family Assisted Living Home in Whitehall following a decline in his health over the past few years. Bob was born on January 17, 1959 in Whitehall to James and Lyla (Wiggins) Cooley and graduated from Whitehall High School in 1978. Bob later married Cindy Lou Short on August 25, 1979 in Blue Lake Township and Cindy preceded him in death on February 9, 1997. Bob has been a lifelong resident of the Blue Lake area where he had been a roofer for over 22 years. Bob enjoyed the Michigan outdoors and would spend time canoeing and camping for several days along the rivers of Michigan. He enjoyed raising farm animals, hunting, and fishing and was well known for his large vegetable garden every year.

Bob is survived by his children, Robert Cooley II of Holton; Lyla (Jason) McFarland of Holton; Juanita (Troy) Kulczyski of Holton; his grandchildren, Bretten Cooley, Levi Cooley, Hannah McFarland, Emma McFarland, Nevaeh McFarland, Karli Kulczyski, and Kaiden Kulczyski; his brothers and sister, Frank (Patty) Cooley of Montague; Harry (Sue) Cooley of Holton; Donald (Debbie) Cooley of Whitehall; Audrey (Al) Marriott of Indian River; several nieces and nephews. Bob was preceded in death by his wife, Cindy; his parents, James and Lyla Cooley; his sister, Marlene Beechum; brothers, James Cooley and William "Bill" Cooley.

VISITATION : Wednesday, December 13, 2017 from 12-2pm at Crandell Funeral Home – Fremont Chapel 7193 W 48th Street Fremont MI 49412. CELEBRATION OF LIFE SERVICES : Wednesday, December 13, 2017 at 2pm at the Crandell Funeral Home – Fremont Chapel. INTERMENT : Oakhill Cemetery in Dalton Township with his wife, Cindy.
