Robert Bob Mitchell Baldwin, age 76, of White Cloud passed away on Wednesday, January 21, 2009, at Spectrum Health Services Butterworth Campus. Bob was born on July 31, 1932, in Evansville, Indiana, to George and Elizabeth Berniece (Mitchell) Baldwin and married Genevieve Kutchey on October 22, 1955, in Lowell Michigan. Bob served 2 terms as Mayor of the City of White Cloud, was a 1998-99 alumni of the Leadership In Newaygo County (LINC) Program. He was past president of Michigan High School Athletic Association (MHSAA), member of West Michigan Officials Association (WMOA), and member of the White Cloud Eagles. Bob proudly served his country receiving a Bronze Star as an Army MP in the Korean War. Bob is survived by his former wife, Genevieve of Grand Rapids; children, Robert Mitch (Kerry) Baldwin of Grand Rapids, Joseph (Rachel) Baldwin of Ravenna, Michael (Kris) Baldwin of Walker, Lisa (Steve) Freybler of Grand Rapids, and Carol (Pat) Brockie of Oregon; 16 grandchildren; brother Barry (Beth) Baldwin; sister, Barbara Koning Babbit; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by 2 brothers, Bruce and Bill Baldwin. A celebration of Bobs life will be held at 12 noon, Saturday, January 31, from the Crandell Funeral Home Chapel in White Cloud with Pastor Lucky Fulton officiating.
