Robert "Bob" J. Barnhard, age 77, of Grant, passed away on Tuesday, January 24, 2017, at Mercy Health Partners in Muskegon. Bob was born on December 30, 1939, in Dayton Township, to John R. and Dawn Virginia (Backus) Barnhard and married Phyllis Kay Halverson on August 29, 1965 in Bridgeton. Phyllis preceded him in death on July 9, 2009. Bob proudly served his country during the Vietnam War as an Airman in the United States Air Force. Bob is survived by his children, Kevin Dale (Malinda Simons) Barnhard of Grant, Kraig Robert Barnhard of Grant, and Tanya Gale (Sean) Smith of Grant; granddaughter, Kayla Barnhard of Muskegon; great granddaughter, Aubrielle Monroe Barnhard; sister-in-law Doris Barnhard; his beloved dog, "Little bit" and cat, "Tom". He was preceded in death by his wife, Phyllis; brother, Don Barnhard; and an infant son, John.
