Robert "Bob" Amos
Garvon
Apr 8, 1958 — Sep 16, 2026
Robert “Bob” Amos Garvon, passed away peacefully on September 16, 2026. He was born on April 8, 1958, in Reed City, the son of Walter K. and Betty J. (Eldred) Garvon.
Bob was a man who found joy in the simple things in life. He loved to fish and golf and was an avid sports fan, especially when it came to his beloved Detroit Lions and Tigers. He had a particular fondness for numbers and could happily rattle off a hypothetical equation, calculation, or scenario for anyone willing to entertain him.
Above all else, Bob was devoted to his family. He treasured time spent in their company and took great pride in his legacy. In his later years, Bob found a renewed sense of purpose and joy when he became a grandpa to Hudson. He cherished every moment he was able to spend with him and embraced the opportunity to watch him grow.
Bob also had a generous heart and a deep concern for others. He was a passionate blood donor and would sign up for every blood drive he could attend. “You never know when someone else will need it,” was Bob’s simple reflection of the thoughtfulness and compassion he carried throughout his life.
Those who knew Bob will remember his ability to make people laugh and his warm, personable nature. He was kind, accepting, and nonjudgmental, making people feel comfortable simply by being themselves around him. Bob was always willing to offer advice when honesty was needed and it came from a place of genuine love and care.
He believed in keeping an open door for his family, making sure his children always knew that no matter where life took them, they could come home. His home was a place where they were welcomed, loved, and accepted without question.
Bob leaves behind a legacy of laughter, generosity, unconditional love, and a family who will carry his memory with them. He will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing and loving him.
Bob is survived by: his daughters, Bethany Garvon and Cassidy (Brandon) Taylor; grandson, Hudson; sister, Freda (Paul) Robinson; brother, Tom Garvon; several nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
Bob was preceded in death by: his parents, Walter K. and Betty J. (Eldred) Garvon; sisters, Donna, Nancy, Peggy and Marie; brother Ron; and niece, Renee.
In accordance with Bob's wishes, cremation has taken place and a celebration of life will be held at a later date.
