Robert Bob N. Chamberlain, age 72 of Lexington, Kentucky, formerly of Newaygo passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, September 24, 2009 in Newaygo. Bob was born on March 4, 1937 in Fremont to Nels and Alice M. (Taylor) Chamberlain and later married Patricia Marzell on June 22, 1961 in Grand Rapids. Bob graduated from Newaygo High School in 1955, graduated from Michigan State University in 1960 with an electrical engineering degree and later received his MBA from the University of Kentucky in 1994. Bob started work for IBM in 1961 where he worked for 30 years until his retirement and then started work for the Juniata Inking Company in Nicholasville, Kentucky for several years until his final retirement. Bob was a member of the Tabernacle Baptist Church in Nicholasville, Kentucky. Bob enjoyed photography, was an avid reader and was a man of great faith in his daily life. SURVIVORS : his wife, Patricia of Lexington, Kentucky; sister, Judith (William) Anderson of Grant; nieces and nephews, Melissa (Brian) Beeg; Bryan Saum (fiance, Linda); Amy (Todd) Putnam; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Ken & Cora Marzell of Newaygo; sister-in-law, Yvonne Marzell of Fremont; nieces and nephews, Anna (Nick) Johnson; Heather (William) Sohl; his uncle, Lacy (Ellen) Taylor of Barnardsville, North Carolina. VISITATION : Sunday, 6-8pm at Crandell Funeral Home Fremont Chapel. FUNERAL SERVICES : Monday, September 28, 2009 at 11am at the Crandell Funeral Home Fremont Chapel. INTERMENT : Tuesday, September 29, 2009 at 1pm at the Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens in Grand Rapids.
