July 16, 1927 – March 8, 2013
Robert D. Bushaw, age 85 of Fremont, passed away Friday, March 8, 2013 at the Mercy Hospital in Muskegon following a short illness. Bob was born on July 16, 1927 in Hart to Walter M. and Beulah L. (Culver) Bushaw. Bob graduated from Fremont High School and later received his Bachelors degree from Ferris State University. Bob met and married Betty L. Welkome on July 30, 1952 in Fremont and has been a longtime resident of the area. Bob had worked as an independent insurance agent with Prudential Insurance Company for over 30 years until his retirement. Bob enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping in his younger years, was a life member of the Fremont Moose Lodge #1555; member of the Fremont VFW; member of the Hesperia American Legion; Elks, Eagles and had been a volunteer at the Gerber Memorial Hospital for several years. Bob and Betty enjoyed spending their winters in Gulf Shores, Alabama where they had been active in the Michigan Club. Bob truly enjoyed visiting and talking with his many friends where ever he went. Bob served in the United States Army during World War II. Bob is survived by his wife of 61 years, Betty of Fremont; his sons, Kevin Bushaw of Fremont; Kent (Debra) Bushaw of Lyndeborough, New Hampshire; Ken (Trude) Bushaw of Fremont; his grandchildren and their families, Deborah (Chris) Phillips and their children, Charlie, Isaac, and Pippa; Katie (Miguel) Calderon and son, Ryan; Bobby Bushaw; Corri Bushaw and son, Lucas. Bob was preceded in death by his brothers, Gerald Bushaw and Ted Bushaw and by his daughter-in-law, Melyssa Bushaw. VISITATION : Tuesday, March 12, 2013 from 4-7pm at the Crandell Funeral Home Fremont Chapel. MEMORIAL SERVICES : Wednesday, March 13, 2013 at 11am at the Crandell Funeral Home Fremont Chapel. INTERMENT : Maple Grove Cemetery. MEMORIAL CONTRIBUTIONS : Mooseheart.
