Robert P. Hall, age 88 of Newaygo, passed away Sunday, August 29, 2010 at the Spectrum Health Gerber Memorial Hospital in Fremont. Robert was born on June 17, 1922 in Negaunee, Michigan to George and Bertha (Palmer) Hall. Robert moved to Newaygo in 1938 and later graduated from Newaygo High School. Robert married LaVonne P. Carlson on December 12, 1946 in Grand Rapids and she preceded him in death on June 29, 2000. Robert served in the United States Navy during World War II and was a life member and past commander of the Newaygo V.F.W. Sportsmans Post #4249 in Newaygo. Robert had worked at the Newaygo Engineering/Sandmold Company in Newaygo as an estimator for several years until his retirement. Robert also enjoyed drawing which he did throughout his entire life, golfing, fishing, hunting and had enjoyed dancing in his younger years. Robert was also a member of Christ Lutheran Church in White Cloud. He is survived by his son, Robert A. Hall of Tamarac, Florida; his grandson, Shawn (Rosselyn) Hall of Emerson, New Jersey; his great granddaughters, Madison and Isabella. He was preceded in death by his brother, William Hall. VISITATION : Friday, September 3, 2010 from 1-2pm at Christ Lutheran Church in White Cloud. MEMORIAL SERVICES : Friday, September 3, 2010 at 2pm at the church. INTERMENT : Chubbuck Cemetery. We ran into him at Pamida only 3 weeks ago and had a nice "catch-up" visit. He and Vonnie were always such special people!
