Robert Hansen, age 89 of Fremont, passed away Sunday, Nov. 5, 2000 at the Spectrum Health Services Downtown Campus in Grand Rapids. He was born on July 20, 1911 in Chicago, Illinois to Jens Peter Hansen and Louise (Petersen) Hansen and married Millicent Maxwell on October 31, 1933 in Crown Point, Indiana. He was the head design draftsman for United States Steel until his retirement in 1970. Bob was a member of the Newaygo Masonic Lodge and was an avid fisherman in his retirement. . He is survived by his son Paul R. (Jill) Hansen of Kildeer, Illinois, 2 grandchildren, and one sister Helen Smithson of New Lenox, Illinois. He was preceded in death by his wife Millicent on March 7, 1998. Funeral services were held on Saturday, November 11, 2000, in Chicago. Friends may consider the Newaygo County Commission on Aging for memorial contributions.
