Robert "Bob" Hekkema, age 80 of Twin Lake, passed away Sunday, November 1, 2015 at his home following a lingering illness. Bob was born on February 9, 1935 in Muskegon to Reinard and Elsie (Ystema) Hekkema and later married Rozetta Goodwin on October 14, 1961 in Villa Park, Illinois. Bob was self-employed at B & B Auto Sales at his residence in Twin Lake for many years before going to Don Rypma Chevrolet Olds Dealership in Whitehall where he worked as an auto mechanic until his retirement. Bob is survived by his wife of 54 years, Rozetta; his children, Daniel (Kimberly) Hekkema of Twin Lake; Dwayne Hekkema of Muskegon; Sheryl (Mike) Korstanje of Muskegon; Bob (Brenda) Hekkema of Twin Lake; Jeff (Sue) Hekkema of Muskegon; his sisters, Marion Knash and Anna Rivait; and several grand children and great grand children. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Bill; and sister, Alice. A private memorial will be held for family only per Bob's request.
