Robert Dean Hettmansperger, age 88 of Hesperia, passed away Thursday, August 5, 2010 at the Mercy General Health Partners Mercy Campus. Robert was born on November 18, 1921 in Huntington, Indiana to Paul and Orpha May (Carey) Hettmansperger and later moved to Hesperia where he met and married Olive May Tinkham on January 25, 1946 in Fremont. Robert graduated from Hesperia High School in 1940 and worked at Gerber Products Company in Fremont for 38 years as a retort operator until his retirement in 1984. Robert served in the United States Army during World War II and was a member of the Lakeview V.F.W. Robert was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather to his family. He is survived by his wife, Olive May; children, Rollin (Toni) Hettmansperger; Christy Lou Zehner; Everett Hettmansperger; Gary (Kelli) Hettmansperger; Sharon (Todd) Griffes all of Hesperia; 9 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; his brother, Edward Jay (Donna) Hettmansperger of Hesperia; several nieces, nephews, and brothers and sisters-in-laws. Preceded in death by his daughter, Patsy Allers in 1987 and a great granddaughter. VISITATION : Sunday, Aug. 8, 2010 from 2-5 at Crandell Funeral Home Fremont Chapel. FUNERAL SERVICES : Monday, Aug. 9, 2010 at 1pm at the funeral home. INTERMENT : East Hesperia Cemetery. MEMORIAL CONTRIBUTIONS : Harbor Hospice. Gary & Kelli, Our sympathy's are with you.
