Robert "Bob" J. Majewski, age 89 of Grand Rapids, formerly of Hesperia, passed away Friday, June 30, 2023 at his home following a decline in his health. Bob was born on May 13, 1934 in Grand Rapids to Albert and Esther (Bengston) Majewski and later married Betty Blish on June 7, 1958 in Grand Rapids and Bob and Betty moved to the Hesperia area around 1995. Bob started working at Burke E. Porter Machinery as a machinist and polisher and eventually moved up ranks and retired at the Night Supervisor after 40 years of service. Bob was a veteran of the Korean War where he served in the United States Army and was a Life Member of the Hesperia V.F.W. Bob enjoyed golfing, bowling, fishing, gardening, woodworking and taking walks. He was a long time member of Christ The King Catholic Church in Hesperia where he sang in the choir for many years. Bob truly cherished the time he spent with his grandchildren and sang to all of them "You are my sunshine" to get them to sleep. Bob is survived by his wife of 65 years, Betty of Grand Rapids; his children, Madelyn (Kelly) Thompson of Sand Lake; Michael (Penny) Majewski of Walker; 10 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; his brother, William Majewski of Grand Rapids; several nieces and nephews. Bob was preceded in death by his son, Robert "Robbie" Majewski Jr; his sisters and brothers, Josephine, Richard, Alice, Virginia, Charles, Barbara, Karen; his sister-in-law, Shirley (Fred) Peters.
