Melville, Robert L. Robert L. Melville, age 62 of Fremont, passed away Saturday, November 30, 2002 at his home following a short illness. He was born on October 27, 1940 in Dunfermline, Scotland to Robert and Mary (Duff) Melville and married Mary Mateer on April 18, 1981 in Fremont. Robert came to the Fremont, Michigan, United States from Scotland as an exchanged teacher at the Daisy Brook Schools and later moved back to Fremont where he continued his teaching in the Fremont Public Schools. Robert enjoyed photography and speaking about his homeland of Scotland He is survived by his wife, Mary of Fremont; his children, Rob Melville at Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois; Catriona Melville at Grand Valley State University in Allendale; Mari Melville at Grand Valley State University in Allendale; his sister and brother-in-law, Jessie & Dave Walker of Glenrothes, Scotland; several nieces and nephews. Funeral memorial services were held on Saturday, December 7, 2002 at 2:00 p.m.from the Crandell Funeral Home Fremont Chapel with Rev. Mary Frens of St. Marks Episcopal Church in Newaygo presiding with interment in Scotland.
