Obituary

Robert N. Osborne passed away on Monday, December 14, 2009, at Fountain View Retirement Village in Grant. He was 90 years old. Bob, as he was known in the community, was preceded in death by his wife, Edie, and youngest son, David. He is survived by his daughter Lucy (John) Schott of McCall, Idaho, son Rob (Cyndie) of White Cloud, daughter Suzin of Durango, Colorado, and son Tom (Marge) of Juneau, Alaska, along with numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Bob was a World War II Army Veteran. He and Edie moved to White Cloud from the Detroit area in 1947 with two children, a dog and a bunch of chickens. He put up his first Gunsmithing sign shortly after that, then spent the rest of his life doing gun repair and building some beautiful guns in the process. Bob was somewhat of a local expert of firearms history and enjoyed collecting guns and rare ammunition. He had one of the most extensive firearms libraries in Michigan. Bob and Edie loved to travel and Bob visited all 50 states. One of their favorite trips was to Europe for several weeks. Bobs family will gather in the early summer for a small private memorial. Bob will be dearly missed by family and friends. Friends may send a condolence or share a memory online at www.crandellfh.com. Arrangements by Crandell Funeral Home White Cloud Chapel.
