Roberta "Bobbie" D. Deater, age 87 of Bridgeton, passed away Wednesday, January 8, 2020 at the Newaygo Medical Care Facility following a lingering illness. Bobbie was born on September 9, 1932 in Sioux City, Iowa to Lester Isaac and Audrey Marland (Swanson) Forsberg and later married Donald Deater on April 8, 1961. Donald preceded her in death on December 7, 2007. Bobbie has been a longtime resident of the Bridgeton area and had been a clerk at Gene's Market for many years prior to her retirement. Bobbie was a member and had been active in the Newaygo V.F.W. Sportsman's Post #4249 Auxiliary and had enjoyed knitting and snowmobiling in her younger years. Bobbie is survived by her children, Christine McCormick of Comstock Park; Ronald (Pat) Wight of Grant; Ralph (Jackie) Lambert of Gravette, Arkansas; her grandchildren, Jennifer Hilton, Troy McCormick, Zack McCormick, Rebecca Wight, Toby (Holly) Wight, Jennifer Lambert, Michelle Migliorato; her great grandchildren, Lorenzo Diaz, Isaac Wight, Adriana Alvarez, Autumn Wight, Austin Wight, Dale Wallis, Victoria Wallis, Jennifer Lambert; her sister, Nancy Simpson. She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Deater and by her brother, Dan Forsberg. Graveside services will be held in the spring of 2020 at the Bridgeton Township Cemetery.
