VanBoxel, Roberta May Roberta May VanBoxel, age 84, of White Cloud, passed away Saturday, July 5, 2003 at Transitional Health Services in Fremont . She was born on July 10, 1918 , in Gladstone , Michigan , to Thomas and Sophie (Thomas) Cartwright and married Peter VanBoxel on December 18, 1937 , in Gladstone , Michigan . She was preceded in death by her husband Peter on May 27, 1988 , and 2 daughters, Debra and Wanda. Roberta moved to the White Cloud area in 1972 from Detroit and had been a nurses aid at the Newaygo Medical Care Facility in Fremont until her retirement. She is survived by her daughters, Johanna ( Leon ) Graham of Florida, Ann (Lyle) Thompson of Bailey, Peggy (Joseph) Denny of Newaygo, and Katie (John) Hammond; sons, Peter S. (Kathleen) VanBoxel of White Cloud, Ronald (Loy) VanBoxel of White Cloud, Leroy (Rhonda) VanBoxel of White Cloud, and James VanBoxel of Cedar Springs; sister Joyce McFadgen of Florida; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Services were held on Tuesday, July 8, 2003 , from the Big Prairie Everett Cemetery . For a more lasting memorial Friends are asked to consider the Alzheimers Unit at Transitional Health Services.
