Rodney Corley was called home by his Lord and Savior on July 5, 2023. He bravely fought many cancers over the past 25 years, while continuing to work and help others. Born in Fremont, Michigan, Rodney had been a resident of Georgia for the past 35 years. He was a Master Builder and skilled carpenter, working as a contractor and tradesman during his lifetime. A proud and patriotic American, he served his country in the United States Navy and was a very strong supporter of the Second Amendment.
Rodney enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, and cookouts, but fishing was his passion. "Kiss My Grits" was often heard by his fellow boatmates when "the big one got off". He enjoyed cooking for his family and was famous for his homemade bread and legendary potato salad. His presence at family reunions meant great food and lots of fish stories (true or not). The family often wondered!!
Survivors include his loving daughter, Karie Moseley of Eclectic, Alabama, and a son, Wesley Corley of Grants Pass, Oregon; grandchildren, Ashley Moseley and Justin Moseley; great grandsons, Parker, Waylon, and Lucus; sister, Sandra Scarborough of Byron, Georgia; half-sisters, Pat (Joseph) Moore of New Port News, Virginia; Sue Burkle and Candy (Paul) Breuker; of Fremont, Michigan; half brothers, David Lee (Melinda) Van Den Berg of Fremont; and Rick (Karen) Corley of Fremont, Michigan; step siblings, Allen Van Den Berg (Ruth), and Bonnie Hoffman, all of Fremont, Michigan, and Gary Van Der Berg (Nancy) of Wilmington, South Carolina; and many nieces, nephews, and other family members, neighbors, and friends.
