Roger B. Hewer, age 68, of Twin Lake passed away on Sunday, February 14, 2016, at Mercy Health Partners Mercy Campus in Muskegon. Roger was born on April 6, 1947, in Sault St. Marie to Frank Jacob and Thelma G. (Hughes) Hewer and married Connie Walton on September 26, 2015. Roger taught math at Oakridge High School until his retirement in1995. Roger was a lifetime member of the NRA and member of the Twin Lake Gun Club. Roger is survived by his loving wife, Connie; children, Shannon Bean of Muskegon, Starlynn (Jeremy) Morgan of Grand Rapids, and Catrina (Joe) Walton of Newaygo; 7 grandchildren, Stephanie Shafer, Nicholas Shafer, Andrew Shafer, Joel Walton, Justin Bower, Brandon Taylor, and Trenton Taylor; great-grandchild, Jase Walton; sister, Mary Rapson of Ada; and sister-in-law, Geraldine Hewer of Virginia. He was preceded by his parents, Frank and Thelma; and brother, David J. Hewer. There will be a Celebration of Life Gathering for Roger starting at 12 Noon on Saturday, June 4, 2016, at the Twin Lake Gun Club. Flowers may be directed to Crandell Funeral Homes and will be forwarded to the family. Memorial contributions may be made to the Hewer family.
