Roman Joseph Halasinski, age 67 of Fremont, passed away Friday, May 2, 2008 at his home following a long illness. Roman was born on March 23, 1941 in Muskegon to Roman and Frances Helen (Swiatek) Halasinski. He met and later married Marilyn Boutell on November 27, 1965 in Muskegon and had been an auto mechanic and later retired as an apartment manager for the Oakridge and Peachridge apartments in Fremont. Roman served in the US Army. He enjoyed tinkering in his garage, growing roses and gardening, and spending time with his grandchildren were always a highlight. He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Marilyn of Fremont; his sons, Terry Halasinski of Fremont; Brian (Arlene) Halasinski of White Cloud; Tim Halasinski of Fremont; Glen Halasinski of Fremont; Greg Halasinski of Fremont; Matt (Josefina) Halasinski of White Cloud; 9 grandchildren, Ashley, Jonathon, Amanda, Victoria, Jessica, Tyler, Matthew, Dennis, Adam; his sisters and brothers, Bernice McKissack of Muskegon; Victoria Tanis of Muskegon; Donald Halasinski of Oklahoma; Gerald Halasinski of Twin Lake; Larry Halasinski of Muskegon; Teresa (Kevin) Hutchison of Muskegon; Mary Thompson of Muskegon; his sister-in-law, Shelly Halasinski of Muskegon; many nieces and nephews. Preceded by his son, Dennis, grandson, Caleb James and brother, James. Funeral mass services were held on Friday, May 9, 2008 at the St. Michaels Catholic Church in Brunswick with Rev. Father Mike Alber of the St. Michaels Catholic Church presiding with interment in the St. Michaels Catholic Cemetery.
