Ron Deters, age 90 of Fremont, passed away Sunday, October 9, 2016 at the Spectrum Health Gerber Memorial Health Services in Fremont. Ron was born on December 23, 1925 in Fremont to John and Ada (Pikaart) Deters and later married Velda Rose "Wink" Puff on March 24, 1951 in Fremont. Velda Rose "Wink" preceded him in death on May 08, 2013. Ron has been a lifelong resident of the Fremont area where he had worked at Neibor Electric for 28 years until his retirement and then became the electrical inspector for Sherman Township for several years. Ron was a veteran of the Unites States Army where he served during World War II. Ron had been a member of the Holton American Legion, Post #397; was a former member of the Fremont Fire Department, Newaygo County Sherriff's Posse, and had been active in the Victim Services Group with the Newaygo County Sherriff's Department. Ron enjoyed spending time at hunting camp and had enjoyed fishing.

Ron is survived by his children, Barry (Tana) Deters of Grand Haven; Kelvin (Ruth) Deters of Fruitport; Beverly Deters of Fremont; 7 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his sisters and brothers, Joanne, Henry, Wilhelmina "Willie"; Grace; Daniel, "Dan"; Genevieve "Jeri"; Arnold "Arnie"

A time of visitation with the family will be held on Saturday, December 3, 2016 from 2-5pm at the Second Christian Reformed Church 600 Apache Dr. Fremont MI 49412 with Military Rites at 3pm at the church. Friends may consider memorial contributions to the Second Christian Reformed Church in Fremont in memory of Ron.
