Rona M. Thomas-Jackson, age 62 of Twin Lake, formerly of Hesperia, passed away Monday, July 25, 2016 at the Mercy Health Partners Sherman Campus in Muskegon. Rona was born on February 24, 1954 in West Virginia and later moved to the Dearborn Heights area where she spent her younger years. Rona later moved to the Hesperia area in 1980 to raise her family and later became the Director of the Kids Place Daycare at the Hesperia Public Schools for many years until her retirement in 2001. Rona enjoyed gardening, was an avid Detroit Tigers and University of Michigan Football fan but especially treasured being a grandmother to her grandchildren. Rona is survived by her children, Patti (Allie) Hamood of Dearborn and their children, Allia, Danya, Niemer, Mya; Michael (Kat) Thomas of Jenison and their daughter, Elliana; Danielle Dempsey (Tommy Dempsey) of Whitehall and their children, Hunter and Onnyka; Lisa (Steve Lager) Thomas of North Muskegon and their children, Juliah, Gabriellah; Audree (Todd) Myers of Hart and their children, Brynlee and Blakely; her brothers and sister, Michael Selders of Livonia; Diane Selders of Melvindale; Anthony Mendolia (Hector Espinoza)of California; her former husband, Charles Jackson and Daniel Thomas. Rona was preceded in death by her parents, Tony and Betty Mendolia; her sister Deborah Selders.
