Ronald J. Champion, age 72 of White Cloud, passed away Tuesday, July 2, 2019 at his home following a 1 year illness with cancer and Ron has now "just sailed away". Ron was born on June 3, 1947 in Fremont to Roland G. and Mary V. (Petrocelli) Champion and graduated from White Cloud High School in 1965. Ron joined the United States Navy and served during the Vietnam War until his honorable discharge and return to White Cloud. Ron married Marti Diveley on December 31, 2000 in Muskegon and had been a site technician for Sears Appliance until his retirement in 2012. Ron enjoyed woodworking, art and traveling to all the 50 American States. Ron loved music and had written a song and had talked about when he passed away, he would simply "just sail away".
Ron is survived by his wife, Marti; his children, Sara Champion; Allecia Champion; Joshua Champion. He was preceded in death by his son, Jesse Champion.
Following Ron's wishes and requests, private services will be held at a later date following cremation. Interment will take place in Lincoln Township. Friends may consider memorial contributions to Emmanuel Hospice in memory of Ron.
