Ronald Fredrick Lovatt, of rural White Cloud, Michigan, passed away at home on August 4, 2016, after a 2 year battle with esophageal cancer. Ron was born in Big Rapids, Michigan, on December 13, 1950. Ron was a Service and Repair Specialist at Michigan Bell, AT&T, SBC Global for 34 years retiring in 2003. He also bought and sold small farm tractors and equipment, finally settling on the Oliver Line. Ron spent 10 quiet years in retirement from 2003 2013, buying and selling equipment, putting up hay for horses, cutting wood to heat the house, reading, and walking his dog. Ron is survived by his wife, Judy, after 45 years of a loving Christian marriage; their children, Melissa (Bill) Schulz of Howard City, Michigan, Kate (Charlie) Lovatt of Odgen, Utah, Andrew (Aja) Lovatt of Holton, Michigan, Daniel Lovatt of Park City, Utah, and the honorary member of the family, their Korean exchange student, Han Gil of Philadelphia; four grandchildren Natalie, Liam, Aaron and Sean, of Howard City, Michigan; his parents, Nada and Fred Lovatt of Carthage, Tennessee; his younger sisters, Linda Lovatt of Beller Holler, Tennessee and Barbara (Jim) Sherritt of Franklin, Tennessee; his Aunt Helen and Uncle Gordy Burden of Stanwood, who will miss their weekly visits to talk it over; his in-laws, Rev. Roy and Ruth Brockopp of St. Louis, Missouri; and many other wonderful family and friends. Special thanks of the family go out to Dr. Mathew Chung and team, Dr. Allan Coates, Dr. Donald Kim, and Dr. Lawrence Pawl for administering and monitoring Rons health and giving Ron the extra 2 years on this earth, to enable Ron to be at home with Judy and family. Visitation will be held at Crandell Funeral Home in White Cloud on Sunday, August 7, 2016, from 4pm 7pm. Funeral services will be held at the Christ Lutheran Church in White Cloud at 1 PM on Monday with Rev. Will Hooper officiating. A dessert social will follow the service in the Church Fellowship Hall.
