Ronald A. Meister, age 61 of Grant, passed away unexpectedly and peacefully at his home on Friday, April 18, 2014. Ron was born on February 7, 1953 in Muskegon to Alvin B. and Ila (Moore) Meister and graduated from Fremont High School in 1971. Ron later married Cindy Strohmier on March 13, 1974 in Grand Rapids. Ron had been a truck driver for LJ Beal and Sons Trucking in Detroit until his retirement. Ron enjoyed drag racing his cars, going to the circle track car races, loved his dogs, but especially treasured the time spent with his grandsons.

Ron is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Cindy of Grant; his son, Jon Meister (Barbie Turner) of Libby, Montana and their children, Dayton, Titus, and Jordan; his daughter Stephanie (Phil) McAvinchey and their children, Buddy and Troy of White Cloud; his sisters, Darlene Oleniczak of Manistee; Judy Ellison of Twin Lake; Wanda (Jim) Sherman of Fremont; his brothers, Dale (Mary) Weinrick of Fife Lake; Charles (Barb) Weinrick of Marquette; sister-in-law, Dora (Michael) Haney of Shepherdsville, Kentucky; several nieces and nephews; he also leaves behind several close and special friends, Jim Gugle, Frank Blain, Burt Gregga, Jim Brown, Paul Cole to name only a few.
