Ronald Lee Mortensen, age 80, of White Cloud passed away on Saturday, January 13, 2024, at home. Ron was born on May 22, 1943, in Muskegon to Gordon Lee and Marian M. (Hindes) Mortensen and later married Cynthia Marie Parker on August 4, 2006, in Arizona. Ron proudly served his country in the United States Navy during the Vietnam conflict. He served on the USS Ronquil (SS-396) submarine, USS Barb (SSN-596) submarine, and USS Whale (SSN-638) submarine as a Machinist Mate First Class. Ron enjoyed building wooden toys, camping, sailing, the outdoors, helping people, and cherished his time with his family.

Ron is survived by his wife, Cynthia; sons, Jace (Sarah Carter) Mortensen of Arizona and Justin (Laura Cacho) Mortensen of Australia; granddaughter, Madeline Mortensen; brothers and sister, Gary (Mary) Mortensen, Gordon (Mary Ann) Mortensen, and Paula (Mark) Guthrie.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, February 4, 2024, from 12 PM - 4 PM at the Sherman Township Hall (2168 S. Wisner Fremont, MI 49412). Interment will be later this summer in Great Lakes National Cemetery in Holly, Michigan.  Friends may share memories and condolences online with the Mortensen family at www.crandellfh.com.
