Obituary

Ronald Lee Stroven, age 84 of Fremont, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 10, 2023 at his home following a long decline in his health surrounded by his family. Ron was born on January 15, 1938 in Fremont to Harold Raymond and Mary Jane (Dow) Stroven and graduated from Fremont High School in 1956. Ron met and later married Marilyn J. Klingler on November 3, 1956 in Fremont and Marilyn preceded him in death on March 9, 2022. Ron had been an inspector at CWC Textron for many years until his retirement in 1993 and was a member of the Fremont Christian Church. Ron enjoyed carpentry, gardening, hunting in his younger years, John Deere Tractors, and was Past Governor of the Fremont Moose Lodge #1555. Ron had a great sense of humor and was known for his "one liners" and spending time with his family was a highlight of Ron's life. Ron is survived by his children, Ronda (Mark) Fohlbrook of Fremont; Steve (Melissa) Stroven of Fremont; John (Karyn) Stroven of Grant; Scott Stroven of Fremont; 9 grandchildren – Aimee (Randy) Hovey; Audra (Justin) Schuler; Brittney (Josh) Morse; Vicki (Brock) Hill; Brandon Stroven; Matt (Amanda) Stroven; Mike (Melanie) Stroven; Ryan Stroven; Ashlee Stroven; 17 great grandchildren; his brother-in-law, Donald (Jeanette) Klingler of Oklahoma. Ron was preceded in death by his wife, Marilyn; his brothers, Victor Stroven and Richard "Dick" Stroven. Following Ron's wishes, cremation has taken place and a private celebration of life will be held in the spring of 2023 at the family home. Friends may consider memorial contributions to Spectrum Health Foundation for Spectrum Health Hospice in memory of Ron.
