Obituary

Rose Ann Bird, age 92 of Muskegon, passed away Wednesday, April 13, 2021 at the Newaygo Medical Care Facility in Fremont. Rose Ann was born on February 8, 1929 in Wright, Michigan (near Coopersville) to Charles and Johana Marie (Schmitt) Kluting and later married Edward "Birdie" Bird Jr. on June 21, 1952 at St. Jean's Catholic Church in Muskegon. Edward "Birdie" preceded her in death January 4, 2015. Rose Ann had worked at the Johnson Tech Company on Lattimer Avenue in Muskegon for many years until her retirement and has been a longtime resident of the Muskegon area. Rose Ann was a member of the Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church in Muskegon where she had been active with church functions and activities when she was able. Rose Ann enjoyed knitting, crocheting, cross stitch, and reading and playing Bingo, but especially treasured the time she spent being a loving wife, mother and grandmother. Rose Ann is survived by her children, Anthony (Melanie) Bird of Virginia Beach, Virginia; Maureen Bird of Muskegon; Kathleen (Kenneth) Orshal of Cadillac; her grandchildren, Abigail, Hannah (Dylan); Anthony II; Eric; Kaitlin; her great grandchildren, Jackson, Owen and Tyler; her sister, Jean Dietrich of Muskegon; sister-in-law, Agatha Kluting of Coopersville; brother-in-law, Arthur Brosco of Whitehall; many nieces and nephews. Rose Ann was preceded in death by her husband, Edward "Birdie" Bird Jr.; her brother, Frederick Kluting and her sister, Arlene Brosco. A Memorial Mass will be said in memory of Rose Ann at the Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church and a open house will be held later in June at the family home following Rose Ann's wishes for cremation.
