Rose Marie Gardenour, age 79 of Fremont, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, April 16, 2018 at the Spectrum Health Butterworth Campus in Grand Rapids. Rose was born on May 25, 1938 in Manistique, Michigan to Maurice and Lucille (Homan) Conarty and later moved to the Holton area. Rose graduated from Holton High School and later married Max Gardenour on December 6, 1957 in Holton. Rose had worked as a sales clerk for Chris' Drugs, Big Wheel and Ben Franklin for many years until her retirement. Rose had also worked for Gerber Products Company in the market research area and traveled to various towns across Michigan. Rose was an active member of the Fremont Christian Church and had been a volunteer at TruNorth for many years as well as being active with the Crop Walk in Fremont. Rose enjoyed sewing, crafts, camping, snowmobiling, collecting antiques and especially treasured the time she spent with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Rose is survived by her husband of 60 years, Max of Fremont; her children, Kathy (Glen) Conklin of Fremont; David (Julie) Gardenour of Fremont; her grandchildren, Amy (James) Kolalis; Christopher (Melissa) Jahr; Kyle (Brille) Gardenour; Dan (Kesh) Conklin; Matthew (Jacki) Conklin; Ashley (Jordan) Gerth; Taylor (Adam) Hawes; several great grandchildren her brothers, Thomas (Pat) Conarty of Muskegon; Jack (Sherry) Conarty of Holton; half sister, Belinda Conarty of White Lake. She was preceded in death by her mother, Lucille Smart; her father, Maurice Conarty; her brother, Howard Conarty and sister, Genevieve Robere. VISITATION : Friday, April 20, 2018 from 9:30 to 11am at the Fremont Christian Church 10 E Elm Street Fremont Michigan.
