Roy G. Dean, age 82 of Fremont, passed away Saturday, October 31, 2015 at the Spectrum Health Gerber Memorial Health Services in Fremont. Roy was born on April 4, 1933 in Chicago to Arthur and Grace Belle (Harrington) Dean and later married Mary Murray on July 4, 1952 in Grand Rapids. Roy had served in the United States Army during the Korean War. Roy had worked at Sears and Roebuck in Grand Rapids as a division manager for 39 years until his retirement in 1987. Roy and Mary later moved to the Diamond Lake and then moved to Fremont in 1997 where Roy became a greeter at Walmart for 8 years. Roy enjoyed hunting, fishing, fixing bicycles, attended the First Baptist Church in Fremont and was well known for his singing voice. Roy especially treasured the time he spent with his grandchildren. Roy is survived by his wife of 63 years, Mary of Fremont; his children, James (Tracy) Dean of Grand Rapids; David (Cindy) Dean of Conklin; Susan (Dennis) Gort of Fremont; 8 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; his brother, Albert Dean of Grand Rapids; many nieces and nephews. VISITATION : Saturday, Nov. 7, 2015 from 10-11am at the First Baptist Church (51 W Oak Street Fremont MI 49412) with MEMORIAL SERVICES at 11am at the church. INTERMENT : Lincoln Township Cemetery.
