Povey, Roy "Butch" M. Roy "Butch" M. Povey, age 57 of Bitely and White Cloud passed away Monday, June 9, 2003 at the Hackley Hospital in Muskegon. He was born on July 22, 1945 in Lansing to Roy Glen and Beulah Marie (VanAlstine) Povey and married Brenda Tyler on December 10, 1964 in Lansing. He has been a longtime resident of the White Cloud area where he had worked as a plow operator for Utility Contracting for 18 years. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. He is survived by his wife, Brenda of Bitely; his children, Roy M. Povey Jr. of Bitely; Lisa (Craig) Ritsema of Brohman; Alan Povey and special friend Dawn Tweedale of Bitely; Joe Povey of Bitely; 8 grandchildren; 4 step grandchildren; his mother, Beulah Povey of White Cloud; his sisters, Joan (Glen) Fackner of White Cloud; Nita (Dennis) Ringler of White Cloud; Lora Gabrian of Hesperia; his brother, Kevin (Marvel) Povey of White Cloud. He was preceded in death by his father, Roy G. Povey on January 8, 1994 and his brother Lon R. Povey on May 4, 1978. Funeral services were held on Thursday, June 12, 2003 from the Crandell Funeral Home White Cloud Chapel with Rev. John Moser of the Newaygo County Chaplaincy Service presiding.
