Russell William Daniels, age 54 of Newaygo, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, August 14, 2021 at his home. Russell was born on August 20, 1966 in Grand Rapids to Gerald Oliver and Sharon Lee (Heyboer) Daniels and later married Cindy Young on June 13, 2012 in at the Hardy Dam Recreational Park in Newaygo. Russell had been a long-haul truck driver for Werner Enterprise for several years and was currently a truck driver for A to Z Trash in Cedar Springs. Russell enjoyed fishing, camping, swimming, video games and tinkering in locksmithing. Russell is survived by his wife, Cindy of Newaygo; his children, William Daniels of Baldwin; Jonathon Carpenter of Lowell; Tenisha Roy of Sears, Michigan and Miranda Rae of White Cloud; John Schmaltz (Ashley Steffes) of Newaygo; Keith Hoogerhyde of Newaygo; several grandchildren including, Gavin, Lillie, Roy, Allen, Lonnie and Henry; his sister-in-law, Kimberly Daniels. Russell was preceded in death by his parents, Gerald and Sharon Daniels by his brothers, Richard and Robert Daniels. A gathering and cookout will be held on Friday, August 27, 2021 at the Hardy Dam Recreation Park in Newaygo starting at 1:30 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. to celebrate and remember Russell and then everyone is invited to go fishing. Friends may consider memorial contributions to the Daniels family to assist with funeral expenses.
