Russell H. Gilbert, age 61, of White Cloud passed away Saturday, November 17, 2001, at Gerber Memorial Health Services in Fremont. He was born on October 23, 1940, in Grand Rapids to Ralph D. & Bertha (Steringa) Gilbert and married Annette Droog on March 20, 1959, in Grand Rapids. He was a member of the White Cloud United Methodist Church and was Mayor of White Cloud for the past 12 years. He was also a member of Order of Eagles, Fraternal Order of Police, and Downtown Development Committee. He was a member of the White Cloud Fire Department for 12 years, EMT, Veteran, and worked on Kids Free Fishing Day for 7 years. He is survived by his loving wife Annette of White Cloud; 4 daughters, Diane (Dale) Patrick of Big Rapids, Donna (Jim) Nichols of White Cloud, Debra (Glen) Naghtin of Montague, and Renee (Larry) Abuja of Fremont; and 10 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and by his sister Mary in 1967. Funeral services were held at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, November 20, 2001, at the White Cloud United Methodist Church with Rev.
