Russell S. Novak, age 80 of White Cloud, passed away Wednesday, June 24, 2020 at the Newaygo County Compassion Home in White Cloud following a short illness. Russ was born on September 2, 1939 in Chicago, Illinois to Edward Paul and Lillian Eve (Benes) Novak and later married Nancy Wirtz on September 7, 1957 in Fremont. Russ has been a lifelong resident of the White Cloud area where he had worked at Continental Motors, later worked in the roofing and siding industry and later retired from the Propane Industry where he had worked in the delivery, service and management. Russ enjoyed hunting, fishing, trapping, snowmobiling, and the Michigan Outdoors in general. Russ truly enjoyed spending time with his family and his grandchildren brought him great joy. Russ is survived by his wife of 63 years, Nancy of White Cloud; his children, Connie (Michael) Nader of Edmond, Oklahoma; Mark (Patty) Novak of White Cloud; Kelly (Richard) Thompke of Kalamazoo; his grandchildren, Jennifer (Patrick) Sloan; Christopher (Ashlie) Nader; Brian (Kelly) Novak; Billi Jo (Michael) McCaul; Heather (John) Barker; Jared Thompke; 7 great grandchildren; his sisters, Florence Sudent of Illinois; Nance Tolley of White Cloud. Russ was preceded in death by his sisters, Gladys Grveles and Joan Meisner.
