Russell Owen Scott, age 78 of White Cloud, formerly of Lombard, Illinois, passed away Saturday, November 22, 2014 at the Spectrum Health Butterworth Campus in Grand Rapids following a short illness. Russell was born on June 8, 1936 in Hinsdale, Illinois to Wilbur Dewey and Iva (Cook) Scott. Russell joined the United States Air Force where he served during the post Korean era. Russell married Eileen Glumb on March 21, 1959 in Downers Grove, Illinois and worked as an engineer at AT&T for 30 years until his retirement in 1992. Russell and Eileen moved to the White Cloud area in 1997 from Lombard, Illinois and enjoyed hunting, cutting and harvesting his own firewood, spending time with his family and truly enjoyed competition shooting at the Rockford Sportsmans Club. Russell also enjoyed his time volunteering on the Newaygo County Sheriffs Posse and was a member of the White Cloud United Methodist Church. Russell is survived by his wife of 55 years, Eileen of White Cloud; his sons and their families, Mark (Brenda) Scott of Hazel Crest, Illinois and their sons, Jimmy, Greg and Bradley; Matthew (Bernadette) Scott of Lombard, Illinois and their sons, John and William; 2 nephews, Daniel and David Scott. Russell was preceded in death by his brother, Ronald Scott. VISITATION : Friday, November 28, 2014 from 4-7pm at Crandell Funeral Home White Cloud Chapel. FUNERAL SERVICES : Saturday, November 29, 2014 at 11am at the White Cloud United Methodist Church.
