Hallie Ruth Tenney Hallie Ruth Tenney, age 68 of Croton, passed away Tuesday, March 14, 2000 at her home following a short illness. She was born on January 29, 1932 in Elkins, West Virginia to Edward and Clara (Nelson) Kettle and married Macil Tenney on June 5, 1949 in Elkins, West Virginia. She has been a resident of the Croton area since 1986 when she moved from Warren, Michigan. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother and was a member of the River Valley Community Church in Newaygo. She is survived by her husband, Macil of Croton; three children, Gary (Esther) Tenney of Kentwood; Joyce (Rick) Roberts of Nashville, Tennessee; Lynn (Bruce) Carlson of Rockford; eleven grandchildren, Jodie (Chad) Carson; Aaron Tenney; Richard Roberts; Laurie Roberts; Jason Tenney; Beth Tenney; Krissy Tenney; Timmy Carlson; Amy Tenney; Tiffany Carlson; Cody Carlson; two sisters, Juanita (David) Reed of Baltimore, Maryland; Leann Landis of Belington, West Virginia. Memorial services were held on Saturday, March 18, 2000 from the River Valley Community Church in Newaygo with Pastor Russell Kaufman presiding.
