Mrs. Ruth Parks, age 75, passed away Tuesday, October 30, 2001 at Nelsons Adult Foster Care Home in White Cloud. She was born on July 18, 1926 in Flint, the daughter of William and Wilma McCartney. Ruth joined Wayne Parks in marriage and together they had 2 daughters, Kathy (David) Fisk of Cedar Springs and Mikalee (Dale) McCastle of Fremont; 5 grandchildren, Kristin (T.Gary) Benson; Kelly (Shawn) Walker; Keven (Carla Schelske) McCastle all of Fremont; Kerry (Christian) Girman of Pennsylvania; Timothy Bont of Cedar Springs; 10 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by 1 brother, Robert (Marilyn) McCartney; 4 sisters, Judy (Carl A.) Rosenberg; Jill (Charles) Stevens; Janice (Tony Sr.) Nanna, all of Muskegon; Joan Ashley (Jerry Reilly) of Kalamazoo; sisters-in-law, Fran McCartney of Kalamzoo; Katherine (Jerry) LaLonde of St. Louis, Michigan; Donnavere (Robert) Wilms of Clearwater, Florida; bothers-in-law, Mike Rokos of California; William Wright; Harry Lambert both of Muskegon; Dale (Doris) Parks of Ithaca, Michigan; Lynn (Doris) Parks of Kingsley, Michigan; Cleo (Judy) Parks of Eaton Rapids, Michigan; many nieces and nephews, and a very special friend, Floella Bates of Muskegon. Ruth was preceded in death by her husband Wayne on July 31, 2001; her parents; her parents-in-laws, Lynn and Alice Parks of Ithaca; 3 sisters, Mary Rokos; Ann Wright; and Jayne Lambert; 2 brothers, William McCartney and David McCartney; brother-in-law, Clarence Parks and 2 infant granddaughters. Ruth had worked as cashier at Plumbs Supermarket for many years before her retirement. Funeral services were held on Saturday, November 3, 2001, at the Crandell Funeral Home Fremont Chapel with Rev. Julie Armor of the Unity Church in Muskegon officiating with interment in the Jewell Cemetery.
